We made it to BCH!

Goodness what a journey. Yesterday we got picked up by Med-Center Air. It was an emotional moment leaving the floor but we both got lots of hugs from the A-Team at LCH! 🤍
We took an ambulance to the airport, flew to Boston (with a stunning view of NY city), and landed safely (only a few tummy jumps). Riverlyn was a champ and enjoyed playing with the flight crew and listening to her favorite songs.
We got to Boston Children’s Hospital late afternoon and jumped into a full workup in the CVICU (cardiovascular intensive care unit). She’s holding steady for now, thank God.
Today we will move to their step-down care unit and tomorrow she’ll have a full echo (about an hour and a half - phew). Then we will look at timing for her CT and surgery.
It’s completely surreal that we made it here after pursuing this route for almost a year!
Matthew and Nathan are on their way by car (praying for lots of friendly clouds to shield them from the 100+ heat that’s on the radar). They’ll arrive this evening and we will figure out how to get everyone settled. There’s no parking for our lodging so we will finagle something.
The hospital is super new and has lots of fancy features, beautiful hallways, a floor to ceiling aquarium, and a 7-day/week Starbucks so I’ll live 🤓
We will keep everyone posted as things progress - one day, hour, moment at a time…
