Rivy Update: Open Heart #3 - Update -

We found ourselves admitted to Levine Children’s Hospital today. Rivy hasn’t been tolerating her heart failure as gracefully as she has for the preceding months. We are so thankful for all the progress she’s made and yet it’s time to intervene and help her continue to live and grow. 

The next steps will be to monitor and support Rivy with medication adjustments until we can get her to Boston for surgery. Her case will be reviewed tomorrow by Boston’s team and the hospital to hospital transfer process will be initiated. 

It’s deeply emotional to take these steps (seeing Rivy suffer physically and the family separated are both very tough) and we have a long road ahead. 

Alas, one day at a time! 

Some have asked how they can support us during this time. We are still identifying needs but we know travel for Matthew and Nathan to Boston will be in short order and then accommodations once we’re there. They have housing programs and partners we are hoping to utilize but we will see what’s available. 

We will stay in touch along the way. We always covet prayers for health, process, execution, recovery, and comfort during this current and ongoing trial.
