🤍 Riverlyn 🤍 - Update 3 -

Hello again, 

The past few days we’ve been making great strides forward. Riverlyn successfully weaned off the two meds keeping her in the PICU and today we moved to progressive care 🙌🏼

She still has one medication to ween off of which will start tomorrow. Other factors that will be part of this stage are eating and moving.

EATING: We are working with speech therapy and physical therapy to take steps toward getting off of a feeding tube and working up to 50ml orally. The good news is that she’s been handling milk volume well, we just need to see her drinking by mouth 🙏🏼

MOVING: Since the main artery to her left arm was repurposed for her coarctation repair, her circulation won’t be at full force. We are looking to see some stiffness in her left hand loosen. 

We are so thankful she’s progressing as she has.

Tomorrow we will have a better idea about the details of her time in this unit and we’ll get the most current echo results also. It’s a dream to see her unplugged one line at a time 💫
