🤍 Riverlyn 🤍 - Update 2 -

Good evening all, 

Yesterday afternoon Riverlyn was extubated 🙌🏼 It was an intense procedure but she’s doing well. She’s getting nasal breathing support but they’re working on weening off that. 

She’s also on a few medications that are being weened before she’s eligible for progressive care. So we could be looking at another week in PICU. They’re taking things very slowly to see how her heart responds at each phase. Her valve is being watched closely but the current plan is to let her grow before taking steps for (what will likely be) repair measures (rather than replacement). We are praying into this and believe for healing of her valve and the hole. 

She started working with speech & lactation therapy today to help her get to the place where she can eat orally and ultimately be able to nurse. 

We are still not finding much sleep between the hospital and home but we’ve been so thankful for the family and friend support to help us be all we can for both kiddos. I finally got to hold our girl today - my heart soared 💫
