Riverlyn's road to home...🏡 - Update 3 -

The second opinion we were seeking from Boston's valve team echoed the course of treatment she's currently on. Thus, surgery is a go - Riverlyn is scheduled for this Friday, first thing, for her valve surgery here at Levine's with the same surgeon who did her last procedure. It's overwhelming and that's okay. 

The surgery is anywhere three to five hours and the ICU recovery time is 3-7 days. There are a lot of details around the procedure, recovery, and ongoing care that we won't have answers to until we are at those stages. What we know is that we are desperately hoping for a valve repair but if she doesn't have the anatomy for that, we are hoping for a replacement that is functional and lasting. Of course there are all of the elements of major surgery to keep in prayer. 

We really are loved and supported here at Levine. I get hugs every single day and special visits and special gestures from our A-team of nurses.
