Hello all,
Phew... it's been a special week. Riverlyn received the tPA treatment at max dosage and duration. The first 24 hours freed up one of the valve leaflets but the other one remained fixed through the rest of the treatment. In order to avoid surgical intervention the team wants to use as much medication as possible to manage coagulation. They want her to be on aspirin, coumadin, and heparin or lovenox 24-7.
We got moved to the 8th floor (progressive care) at 1am this morning and will be working toward therapeutic levels on all fronts. The hope is she can go as long as possible before needing another surgical intervention.
She’ll need another access point this evening as we’ve had trouble with her PICC dressing - which we really really need for this next phase.
I am deeply exhausted with a few consecutive nights of little to no sleep and some of my long-term chronic health issues are flaring up.
Needless to say we all need a respite! Matthew is back to shuffling things back and forth and Nathan is having a tough time emotionally - though he is so loved and cared for by so many which we do not take for granted. He was able to attend a Baby Luck event today with his lovely escort (Bibi - Betsy). One of the PA's scooped him up for some snuggles which warms my mama heart.
We are looking to Wisdom with faithful hearts to see Rivy safe and thriving 🤍
